Ladies League – Meet Your Officers – President

Sarah Guenther – President – Leader and Giver

Sarah was born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin.  Her love of golf started early with her high school team winning the state championship in 1984.  As a result of her team’s efforts, they were inducted into the East High School hall of fame in 1994.

After high school Sarah continued her education in police science at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, where she met her husband, Karl.  They both went on to serve as law enforcement officers in Green Lake County Wisconsin for nearly 35 years.  She started as a patrol officer, moved to the corrections division, and finished her career as the Registrar of Deeds for Green Lake County.  Sarah and Karl continued to play golf where they lived on Mascontin Golf Course north of Green Lake.

Sarah and Karl purchased a vacant lot in Land O’ Lakes in 1993 and built a log cabin by hand using Karl’s grandfather’s tools.  In 2019, when they decided to live in the Northwoods full time, they put on an addition to their home.  This is the same year that Sarah joined the golf league and immediately felt the warmth and camaraderie that all the members experience.

Leadership and serving the community is part of the family legacy.  As a daughter of the American Revolution, Sarah has English ancestors that found a colony, fought for our freedom, and signed the Declaration of Independence, specifically Charles Carroll of Carrollton, Maryland.  The Guenther family continue the legacy of service with their daughter Alesha, who earned her law degree at Marquette University and practices in Madison.

But wait, there’s so much more to Sarah.  Did you know Sarah is a TV cooking celebrity and author?  Her cookbook “Sarah’s Home Cooked Meals Made Easy” is in its 3rd printing.  She appeared since 2012 on the Green Bay TV cooking show, “Living with Amy”.  In case you are hungry, try one of her recipes.  The Bratwurst Casserole looks yummy!

Sarah is proud of her leadership and cooking skills, and will continue to use them to give back to her community and the Eagle River Ladies Golf League.
