Eagle River Golf Course About Us
The Eagle River Golf Course is one of the most beautiful courses you will ever play – wooded, watered, carefully groomed, and totally in keeping with the unspoiled beauty of Wisconsin’s Northwoods.
But don’t let the beauty overwhelm you. This is also one of the most challenging courses in Wisconsin!
The course was originally built as 9 holes in 1923, years before Eagle River was incorporated as a city in 1937. Back then, people traveled mostly by train to get to the Northwoods.
Now it’s approximately a three hour drive from Green Bay, and five hours from Milwaukee or Minneapolis.
In 1988, the course was redesigned by architect Don Herfort of Minneapolis, and features strategically bunkered greens, narrow forested fairways, and prevalent water hazards. This course will excite and challenge golfers of all skill levels!
You will also enjoy a large practice facility that includes a grass tee range, practice green, chipping area and practice bunker.
Enjoy Northern Wisconsin’s restful beauty, watch the wildlife crossing the fairways, and take your best swing. You’ll enjoy a round of golf on one of Wisconsin’s best kept secrets!
